Thrift Store And Estate Sale Finds

We went out a few times this last week looking mainly for books to sell on the Internet. My goal is to get out more often and work to get the books up for sale faster than usual. You can read about this here.

I found some wonderful vintage romance books that are desireable. Hubby found some Time Life Old West books to sell. Most Time Life Books are not very sellable but he did find 4 or 5 that should sell fairly fast. Already sold one on eBay. Here are a couple of them.

At one sale the books were slim .. nothing bought. Otherwise over priced glassware but I did find this adorable little childs hankie that I could not pass by. Adorable little bears in rocket ships and airplanes.

Did you find any treasures this week... I will be sharing this over at
Take a look to see what others found. .. Grace

Orphan VINTAGE PHOTO# 96 CHILDREN WITH BIKE, ROLLER SKATES AND A SWING LIFE IS GREAT

I love this old photo of these two adorable children. One is on Roller skates and the other is on a small bike. I love their vintage clothing and hats. No names so do not know who or where taken.

Here is another adorable old photo I picked up at a sale. Two darling little girls standing on a swing. It is marked Juvenile and looks well made. Not sure if it is two little girls or a girl on the right and boy on the left. Little girl on right is wearing glasses. Nice big old house in the back ground with big porch. Not sure of the age of photo. Once again no names on photo.

They are all so adorable and it is sad that they get separated from their families.
Thanks for stopping by.. hope to see you again soon.. Grace

Reseller Needing To Get Her Butt In Gear

Are you a reseller on the Internet like I am? Do you put in the hours you know you should to make the money you want to?

I have been selling on the Internet for over 10 years and at times have made over $2,000 a month gross but could never get past that level. Lately we are lucky to make $500 gross. I have come to the conclusion that I am not prioritizing my hours like I should.

A couple days ago I found a reseller who is putting in the hours she does because she needs to.

At this time she is the main bread winner.

I read about the hours she works and realize why my income is so low. I spend to much time with busy work.

Take a peek and meet my newest inspiration Apron Thrift Girl.

Yesterday instead of wandering around the Internet I spent over two hours re listing books and lowering prices of books on eBay and Amazon. We then went to two thrift stores. I did not find anything but hubby found some books in the Time West series that are sellable. Not all Time Lifes bring in enough money to make it worth while to pay almost $2.99 each but these fall with in the range that it is probably worth buying them.

Hope you all have a wonderful day.. thanks for stopping by.. and if you are a reseller I would love to hear your stories and know about your blogs on reselling.. Grace

THRIFT HAUL ~ SEARCHING THE THRIFT STORES FOR BOOKS

This last weekend we went out hunting several thrift stores in the neighboring town. We had spent the weekend with grand daughter so took her out with us. As of yet I do not think she will get the thrifting bug but I am not done with her yet.

Not much found I am afraid to say and usually prices are way to high. First place we head when we walk into a thrift store is the book area. We are ex bookstore owners and have bought and sold books for years. After I go through the books I next head to the other areas of the store.

I am really looking forward to Spring and the start of garage sales. Prices hopefully will be better than the thrift stores.

What I found was four vintage romances to resell.

Three by Jayne Castle who is also known as Jayne Bentley, Amanda Glass, Stephanie James, Jayne Ann Krentz and Jayne Taylor,

and a rare romance by Diana Blayne

who is also known as Katy Currie, Susan Kyle and Diana Palmer.

All four will be put up for sale within days on eBay and Amazon.

Did you go thrift store hunting this last weekend? I hope that you found some real goodies. I will be sharing this at

ORPHAN CABINET PHOTO # 93 Hard Working Family LaCrosse Wisconsin

Here is another wonderful vintage cabinet photo from my collection. It is of a hard working family from the LaCrosse Wisconsin area. Picture is from the early 1900's probably showing mother, father and two young girls. Sadly I do not know who they are.

On the back is written the names Papperfuss of Lamorlle Minnesota and Mrs. A hackbart Lamoille Minnesota with what looks like address by section and the comment of $15.00 each.
What is the meaning of this. Did the owner of the photo use this as a scratch paper to jot land they were thinking of buying or is a clue to the people in the photo.

We probably will never know but I would love to hook this up with family member some day.

Thanks for visiting me here as I share some of my vintage treasures.... Grace

FORGOTTEN ORPHAN PHOTO # 92 OF A SMILING BABY EARLY 1900'S

Take a peek at this adorable baby picture I found in Texas at an antique store a few months ago. What a total doll of a baby in Sepia. I am guessing it is a girl because of the ruffled bonnet but who knows for sure. Wide smile and bright eyed little baby. Not sure of the age of the photo but I am guessing from the early 1900's to 1920's.

Sadly we have no name on the back so no way to identify. These can be displayed in a vintage bowl. Who doesn't like to look at darling babies.

Happy Valentine's Day Vintage Valentines post #1

I have found some wonderful vintage Valentines in the past at sales. As a child I loved Valentines day in school.

We would buy a package of Valentines then pick who in my class would get which one. Everyone got one of course.

I loved receiving them also. Sadly I do not have any of these received from class mates but I do have ones that others received.

Over the next days until the big day I will share some of mine. There are some real cute ones so be sure to stop back every day if possible.

Today's is a pretty little girl in an Indian outfit complete with big head dress. The arrow moves up and down. Written is

"You're my CHIEF attractions

I'm aiming to make you mine Valentine"

on the back is

Orphan Photo # 89 Pretty Black Woman Vintage late 1800's Sepia

This vintage photo was found among family photos on my mother's side. I am guessing she was a friend of my great grandmother Katherine or Katherine's sister Mary. No name on the back so do not know who she was. There is light penciling on the back but can not make it out.
She is a pretty black lady from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. She probably lived in the Wisconsin area. She is wearing small little stud earrings. What is on her hat is a mystery to me.
Wish I knew who she was so I can match her to family.
