Each hat from left to right gets fancier and then you come to number 4 and she stands out all by herself. Her hat is plain and if you look close you can see her bow around her neck matches her hat band. Each of the other ladies have bows around their necks also.
The photo identifies the first lady as Fanny Swayer . There is writing on the back in pencil that I can not make out sadly. , . I have other pictures of her posted recently.. take a peek if you like.

What a wonderful photo! Hard to believe that people don't want their family history. That is such a charming one too.
ReplyDeleteAlthough dh and I don't have biological children, we have become the savers of family history and photographs. Its a bit overwhelming. I love your blog.

Those ladies look very spiffy in their fancy hats! I love it.
ReplyDeleteThose old hats are fascinating.
ReplyDeleteLove the hats! When I enlarged the photo those collars made it look like their heads were super-imposed. Very strange.
ReplyDeleteCan you just imagine the hat head????? Oh, and in my very infrequent experience wearing a hat - - - they get HEAVY too.

ReplyDeleteGreat photo, love the hats. I wonder if they were heavy or made it hard to hold your head up. They are so fancy!
