Peeking Into The Past Picture Of The Day Real Photo Postcard Sugar Ray Robinson

Real Photo Postcards were made in the early 1900's The front side would have a full-size real photograph. Back side was where you could write your message and the address of your friend or family member.

The popularity of real photo postcards soared nationwide with many people beginning to  collect the cards in albums.

No other single format has provided such a massive photo history of America.

This weekend I sold a real photo postcard of Sugar Ray Robinson on eBay.

I love selling vintage photos on eBay and real photo  postcards are probably my favorite to sell.

Thanks for stopping by.

Peeking Into The Past of Minnie Grace Fuller Illinois 1878 - 1968

Awhile back at an auction in Duluth Minnesota I bought a photo album with pictures labeled Cripps

and Gregory.

Today's photo is of an adorable young girl about the age of 7 years old  identified as Grace Fuller.

Searching ancestry I came up with what I think is the information of Minnie Grace Fuller

who married Bartlett Eugene Allen. There was another photo of Grace and looking at the two

side by side I think I found my girl.

Back of photo is photographer in De Kalb, Illinois.

Grace and her family lived in Iowa most of her life.  Now while I can not be definite that I found the

right person on ancestry and do feel somewhat confident.  This photo is offered on eBay and looking

for a family member.

Thanks for stopping by. Grace

Look What I Found At The Bottom of a Old Hat Box At A Garage Sale

I love garage sales and it is all about the hunt.

Piled on tables are a lot of treasures some cool and some just old chipped stuff from grandma's cupboards.

While wandering the tables I found a large old plastic hat box. Dirty , falling apart and zipper broken.

But inside were several wearable vintage women's hats from the 1930s to 1950s.

All listed on eBay in our store.  Sold one or two and it was time for us to travel south for the winter.

Hats take very little space in the van so on the road they went.

Well today another is sold and packed and on its way to Las Vegas

where it happens we are right now for the next few months.

We have a few more hats for sale and hopefully we will mail out a few more before returning north.

ORPHAN VINTAGE 128 PHOTO FAMILY OUTING IN THE WOODS OF MINNESOTA

This photo was among some family photos I bought recently. The family lived in the Duluth, Minnesota area so I am guessing this where the photo was taken.
Large family great clothing. No names but on the back is written Summer 1905. The lady I bought from was a Nelson so sure many of these had that last name.

VINTAGE ORPAN PHOTO 127 Creepy Looking Real Picture Postcard Of A Baby

Todays orphan photo is a real picture postcard of a baby. The photo almost looks creepy. Child is standing but I wonder if some one is holding the baby up. Looks to young to stand all by itself. The shoes are dark and blend into the pictures so almost looks like a shoeless baby.
Post card is from the early 1900s. Thanks for stopping by.

Sepia Saturday 161 Vintage 1920s 1/26/2013 Black and White Photo Men And A Bottle Of Beer Break

Sepia Saturday is here again. I love to post a picture for this weeking posting but some times the week gets away from me.

This is my weeks entry, not quite on topic but close enough. Here we have a group of 14 young men out doors by a stream. All but 3 are holding a bottle which I am guessing is beer. On the ground right side are 4 more bottles standing amoung the ground cover. Near by are baskets or boxes of apples and a large knife sticking nearby in the ground.
The majority are dressed with dress shirts and ties, some are casually dressed. Behind the two men on the right side you can see hats hanging on the tree branches.
What is the meaning of the picture? Group of friends out together for some beer and apples. Is it a group of men who sell beer and it is a promotional picture?
I have no idea, no names written on it but a great photo any way. I am guessing age is 1920s to 1930s and measuring 10 inches by almost 5 1/2 inches.
Take a peek at what others are sharing by clicking the above link. Fun times and fun pictures every Sepia Saturday.
