Here is a darling photo I recently found at a sale. I could not pass up this sweet little girl. Long curly hair, frilly dress with a sash and she is holding a book in her hands.
No name to tell me who she is but she lived in the early 1900s in Ishpeming , Michigan and her photo was taken by Childs Art Galley.
Love vintage photos check out my eBay store to see what I am offering.

IN THE DIRTY OLD ENVELOPE I FOUND ~ SMALL TYPE PRINTS
Going through a box of costume jewelry I bought at Monday's auction. Keeping 2 bangle bracelets for time being that I was wanting. Rest I will resell at upcoming local auction.
In this box I found a dirty old envelope with metal print type 73 small letter T's. These I am putting up on eBay. For some reason these sell. Will be interested in seeing what they sell for. Would be great for creating jewelry or multi media art or what ever.

ORPHAN VINTAGE 128 PHOTO FAMILY OUTING IN THE WOODS OF MINNESOTA
This photo was among some family photos I bought recently. The family lived in the Duluth, Minnesota area so I am guessing this where the photo was taken.
Large family great clothing. No names but on the back is written Summer 1905. The lady I bought from was a Nelson so sure many of these had that last name.
Thanks for stopping by. Grace

VINTAGE ORPAN PHOTO 127 Creepy Looking Real Picture Postcard Of A Baby
Todays orphan photo is a real picture postcard of a baby. The photo almost looks creepy. Child is standing but I wonder if some one is holding the baby up. Looks to young to stand all by itself. The shoes are dark and blend into the pictures so almost looks like a shoeless baby.
Post card is from the early 1900s. Thanks for stopping by.

Sepia Saturday 161 Vintage 1920s 1/26/2013 Black and White Photo Men And A Bottle Of Beer Break
Sepia Saturday is here again. I love to post a picture for this weeking posting but some times the week gets away from me.
This is my weeks entry, not quite on topic but close enough. Here we have a group of 14 young men out doors by a stream. All but 3 are holding a bottle which I am guessing is beer. On the ground right side are 4 more bottles standing amoung the ground cover. Near by are baskets or boxes of apples and a large knife sticking nearby in the ground.
The majority are dressed with dress shirts and ties, some are casually dressed. Behind the two men on the right side you can see hats hanging on the tree branches.
What is the meaning of the picture? Group of friends out together for some beer and apples. Is it a group of men who sell beer and it is a promotional picture?
I have no idea, no names written on it but a great photo any way. I am guessing age is 1920s to 1930s and measuring 10 inches by almost 5 1/2 inches.
Take a peek at what others are sharing by clicking the above link. Fun times and fun pictures every Sepia Saturday.

Orphan Photo #126 Belly On Up To The Bar Sweetie ~ Vintage RPPC
Here is one of my vintage Real Picture Postcards I have found and I will be selling on the Internet.
No names to tell me who these ladies are.
They are pictured by a fake bar pretending to be a bartender and a drinker. Take note of their short hair that is unusal for this time period. They appear darker skin so could be hispanic.
They are so pretty with their sweet smiles. Sure wish I knew who they were. Take a look at some of the signs hanging at bar.

SEPIA SATURDAY 159 12 January 2013
Sepia Saturday #159 is all about bathing suits, water or just warmth in the sun. I could use some warmth right now. I have to admit it is not as cold as it could be hear in northern Minnesota at this time of the year.
Take a peek at other Sepia Saturday postings sharing their postings for this weeks topic of water or swim suits. This is three vintage black and white photos of a families outing on a summer day.

ORPHAN PHOTO #125 Vintage Real Postcard John Arvid Someli Indo was married to Hulda Jussila in 1922
This orphan vintage real post card is of a young man posed in a simple chair. Dressed in a business type suit.
Back of post card has a paper taped on it that has the name John Arvid Someli Indo
born 03 -25 -1885 died 09 -19 -1924. Married Hulda Jussila on 09 - 29 - 1922, buried at Park Hill on 09 - 25 -1924 Div G Row 24 Grave 23. There is a Park Hill Cemetery in Duluth Minnesota.
Post card is from the 1901 to 1907 era so young man was in his 20 and I think it was taken here in the United States.

I find John living as a boarder in the 1920 census in Duluth. He was listed as a laborer working in the woods, is widowed and immigrated from Finland in 1913.
I find a Hulda living in Duluth and listing John as her husband and that he is deceased. She was living in what is now the down town area of Duluth on South 1st ave West.
Sadly from this picture I can see that he was married to Hulda just two years before he died at the age of 39 years old.
I could not find him in any family trees on ancestry at this time. Searched for his wife Hulda, I found that she immigrated from Finland landing in Canada and then coming to the United States in February of 1910. She was born about 1885. No family trees found at this time.

ORPHAN PHOTO # 124 Vintage Real Postcard 1900s Dressed in Best Coat and Hat
This orphan photo is a vintage real post card from the early 1900s. Sadly there is no name to help identify this young woman. She is all dressed up to go out to visit friends in her coat and hat with flower on the side. I wish I could see the dress it appears simple and light weight and may have a design to match the hat. You can see a bit of design on the left side.
Back of post card is not divided and has AZO in stamp area. This post card is from the era of 1901 to 1907.

Selling and Collecting Vintage Game Boards On eBay
Last summer I bought 8 vintage game boards at a garage sale. They have been sitting on my to list pile and this weekend I have been busy getting them ready to sale. These will be added to my eBay auction listings this Sunday night.
I only have the game boards but they are neat in them self. Fun to collect and decorate with.
One of the best ways to display game boards that don't have pieces is to hang them on the wall.
The beautiful colors, pictures, and designs will add something special to your room.

Merry Christmas To All Of You
Merry Christmas to all of my friends. What a wonderful blessed day we are having today. I am thankful for all I have and pray for those who have troubles or pain in their lives at this time. I am thinking and praying for those who lost their children to tragedy and illness. My heart aches for them.

Holiday time is busy but still need to take a moment to share a Sepia Saturday post. This is a vintage Christmas picture that came in a group of vintage greeting cards. I am guessing it is from the early 1900s. Pictured is a darling blond angel among the clouds with a greeting telling us " A Bright and Happy Christmas"
There are no names written on back so I have no idea who owned it before but glad it is mine for the time being. I will be offering it for sale on etsy soon.

Hunting through photos for Christmas photos to share tonight. This is one that came in a group of photos.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from this smiling young family. No last name or where they lived.
Not exactly sure of her name but his is Paul and their daughter is Cheryl, looks like mama's name may be DeLois.
I am guessing this photo is from the 1970s or 1980s and our little Cheryl is about 1 years old.
What do you think?

Monday Matrimony Vintage Photo of Bride and Groom Orphan Photo #120
Mondays are a perfect time to share a vintage photo of a bride and groom. This vintage CDV is from the early 1900s. We have no names to identify the bride and groom but back of photo tells us that it was taken at the Chas Tebo Photographers at N Side Broadway in Eau Claire Wisconsin.
I find the posing of the female standing next to the gentleman with her hand on his shoulder. They appear to be a well dressed couple.

SUNDAY SMILES ~ Snapshot Smiling Children 11/25/12 ~ Orphan Children Photos #119
Lots of smiles can be found within this group of vintage snap shots. Whether or not they are dressed for church no one knows but I do know that at least some are smiling . Snap shots are probably from the 1940 based on the clothing they are wearing
Within the photo is the shadow of the picture taker.
Sadly we have no name or place where picture was taken. Sad little orphan photos.

SEPIA SATURDAY 153 November 24 2012 Children on Roller Skates and a Bike
Time for Sepia Saturday and the theme is children. One of my favorite photos to look for are children or women in hats. This is one of my favorite vintage photos. Two adorable children one on a bicycle and the other wearing rollerskates. These adorable kids are wearing matching coats and hats. They are so adorable. No names to let us know who they are or a date to let us know when taken. Guessing some where in the 1930s or 1940s. Would love to hear your ideas of dating this photo.
Take a moment to look at other offerings at Sepia Saturdays. I will be posting my picture there.
