VINTAGE VICTORIAN ADVERTISING CARDS

Vintage Victorian Advertising cards can be collectible. Pretty pictures of a child or animals and then on the other side comes the advertising.

This one is an adorable little girl with her shoes and socks on the floor in front of a beautiful fireplace. Advertising the John Mundell & Co Philadelphia .. Solar Tip and Pansy shoes for Children. This one is damaged front and back but a wonderful piece of Victorian advertising.

These two are asian design and as I look at them I have a feeling of saddnest as the I think of the people of Japan. My prayers are with them. Some where I think I have a blue asian style hankie. Will have to find that and share sometime.

This adorable card has a child, big dog and a puppy. Advertising Helper Stoves and Ranges ... They are the best. Sadly the back is damaged from some one having pasted it in an album which was popular in the Victorian times.

And the last one is a adorable winter theme. Sweet child with long hair dressed in a beautiful green dress with fur trim reaching out to a little bird.

Hope that you have enjoyed seeing these vintage advertising cards. I will either sell on eBay or use them in some craft/decorating item.
Thanks for stopping by... Grace

Loving Vintage Paper.. Meet Ida M Friend a Millinery Shop Owner of 1909

I love vintage paper as I have said more than once. Every time I visit an estate sale or antique store that is where I end up. I love something different and this is one of my treasures I found lately.

It is a vintage post card advertising a Full and Complete line of Seasonable Millinery owned by Ida M Friend of Clearwater Minnesota. It is postmarked Mar 25 1909 Clearwater and addressed to Mrs Amy Erickson of Annandale Minnesota.

I went to http://www.ancestry.com/ and searched for Ida. In the April 1880 census Ida is 20 years old. In 1900 she can be found in Wright Minnesota and would be about 40 years old. Last time I found her is the 1930 census and she is in Oakland California and occupation is listed as a private home address.

I have no idea if this picture is of Ida in one of her outfits but I like to think it is. Her the young lady is dressed to go fishing. How cute she is.

I have other postcard that have been mailed to the Friend family in my collection. They are Christmas cards mailed to the Friend family who were living in Illinois in the early 1900's. View them at http://www.blogger.com/post-create.g?blogID=4127199388190162153
Hope that you enjoyed seeing one of my favorite treasures. I am planning to use this in a future project. Thanks for stopping by.. Grace

Vintage Thingie Thursday Sharing Some Vintage Bling

Have not been around for Vintage Thingie Thursday for a bit.. work getting in the way and we have decided to leave HOT Texas for COLD Minnesota which is really home to us. We leave in about 6 weeks so I have been busy working, packing and trying to sell some of my books ( we have a part time book business on eBay) . Anything I can sell fast we do not have to move or get rid of.

Back to Vintage Thingie Thursday. Here is a cute little picture I put together. Have not been into crafts for some time and thought I would give it a little try again.

Everything used is vintage in this piece. The frame belonged to my grandparents and there was an old picture in it once. I replaced the old picture with a vintage ad for McLaughlin's Coffee and then some vintage jewelry pieces was glued to the frame.

Just about done... and will be putting in a sale some day..

Hope that you all have a great Vintage Thingie Thursday and visit others at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/2010/06/vintage-thingie-thursday-vintage.html
