Vintage Orphan CDV Photo # 75 1900's Couple Orphan Picture

Today's photo that I am sharing is a vintage CDV of a couple from the early 1900's. They are well dressed so probably were prosperous. She is dressed in a beautiful dress with darker trim decorating the bodice and wearing a hoop under her skirt that was the style then. Her husband is dressed in a three piece suit and appears some what older than her.

Sadly there is no name on the photo or photographer noted so we have no idea where they lived or who they were.

Thanks for stopping by.. hope that you will take a moment and look at my other photos. Please stop back soon... Grace

Rare 1923 Franklin Sugar Recipe Book

I love Estate sales, garage sales, thrift stores and antique stores. We are always on the hunt for some treasure to buy and resell on the Internet to help suppliment our income.

Yesterday we were out hunting and stopped at a small estate/garage sale. Boy was it chilly. November in Northern Minnesota is not really garage sale time.

Well in this garage is a pile of books and as I look through them I found craft books on quilting, basket making and a couple of recipe/cookbooks to sell on the internet.
One of them was " The Franklin Sugar Sweetmeat book printed in 1923. Small recipe book and only 64 pages.

I will be listing it tonight on eBay but until it sell will share some of the recipes with you at my other blog http://www.couponloversunite.blogspot.com/. Stop over there if interested

It is rare and I have only found 2 other copies for sale on the Internet so far.
I will be posting this at
http://linda-coastalcharm.blogspot.com/2010/11/nifty-thrifty-tuesdays-no37-and.html
What have you found recently at sales. Thanks for stopping by..

Sepia Saturday Orphan Photo # 72 of Darling Young Child From Minnesota

Today's posting of an Orphan Photo is a sweet looking darling young child from St. Paul Minnesota. I bought this at an estate sale some years ago.
Photographer is S M Taylor of West 7th Street.

I think this is a young girl but with the short hair is hard to be sure. Dressed in a very nice dress with large lacy collar. Around the neck is a small cross.

What a doll. Sadly there is no name on the back to identify this young child. Take a look at the back to see how beautifully it is designed.

I am posting for the first time at Sepia Saturday.. You can visit others at http://sepiasaturday.blogspot.com/2010/11/sepia-saturday-week-48.html for more vintage photos.

I hope that you enjoy my vintage photos and will let me know you have visited. Please take a moment before you leave to see some of my other vintage photos.

Thanks Grace
