Sepia Saturday Photo Gone But Not Forgotten Jack Wetherell Grand Rapids Minnesota

Today's vintage photo is a of a beautiful young child sitting in a high chair. It is a large photo and

written on the front is Jack Wetherell.

The back of the photo tells us that photo was taken June 2nd 1944 at Lloyd's house in

Grand Rapids Minnesota

Also written is that jack was born November 12 1943
.
Always sad that photos get separated from family members. Photo is available on eBay at this time.

Photo has been placed in a brown cardboard frame. Nice looking and hoping that family will find

picture posted today.

I have posted this at Sepia Saturday blog. Take a moment to see what others are sharing.

Sepia Saturday 161 Vintage 1920s 1/26/2013 Black and White Photo Men And A Bottle Of Beer Break

Sepia Saturday is here again. I love to post a picture for this weeking posting but some times the week gets away from me.

This is my weeks entry, not quite on topic but close enough. Here we have a group of 14 young men out doors by a stream. All but 3 are holding a bottle which I am guessing is beer. On the ground right side are 4 more bottles standing amoung the ground cover. Near by are baskets or boxes of apples and a large knife sticking nearby in the ground.
The majority are dressed with dress shirts and ties, some are casually dressed. Behind the two men on the right side you can see hats hanging on the tree branches.
What is the meaning of the picture? Group of friends out together for some beer and apples. Is it a group of men who sell beer and it is a promotional picture?
I have no idea, no names written on it but a great photo any way. I am guessing age is 1920s to 1930s and measuring 10 inches by almost 5 1/2 inches.

SEPIA SATURDAY 159 12 January 2013

Sepia Saturday #159 is all about bathing suits, water or just warmth in the sun. I could use some warmth right now. I have to admit it is not as cold as it could be hear in northern Minnesota at this time of the year.

Take a peek at other Sepia Saturday postings sharing their postings for this weeks topic of water or swim suits. This is three vintage black and white photos of a families outing on a summer day.

Holiday time is busy but still need to take a moment to share a Sepia Saturday post. This is a vintage Christmas picture that came in a group of vintage greeting cards. I am guessing it is from the early 1900s. Pictured is a darling blond angel among the clouds with a greeting telling us " A Bright and Happy Christmas"
There are no names written on back so I have no idea who owned it before but glad it is mine for the time being. I will be offering it for sale on etsy soon.

SEPIA SATURDAY 153 November 24 2012 Children on Roller Skates and a Bike

Time for Sepia Saturday and the theme is children. One of my favorite photos to look for are children or women in hats. This is one of my favorite vintage photos. Two adorable children one on a bicycle and the other wearing rollerskates. These adorable kids are wearing matching coats and hats. They are so adorable. No names to let us know who they are or a date to let us know when taken.  Guessing some where in the 1930s or 1940s. Would love to hear your ideas of dating this photo.

Take a moment to look at other offerings at Sepia Saturdays. I will be posting my picture there.

SEPIA SATURDAY 152 ~ Young Lady Reading Her Bible

For todays Sepia Saturday the theme is reading. I love to read mysteries. I admit I love use bookstores and love the smell of an old book store. Hubby and I owned a used bookstore and for two years had 2 stores.

I searched among my collection of old pictures and found this wonderful cabinet photo of a young lady sitting with her bible in her lap. She is pointing to a certain verse but of course we have no idea what verse.
Bibles are important today but in the 1900s they really an important part of the family life. I have a collection of old family bibles. One of my favorites belonged to one of my great grandmothers.
I hope you enjoy looking at this wonderful old photo. Sadly I have no idea who she is or even where it was taken.
Her dress is full and has puffed sleeves and around her neck is a heart pendant. I would guess she was in her early 20s when taken.

Thanks for stopping by to see my Sepia Saturday posting. I will be sharing this over at Sepia Saturday of UK . Take a moment to peek at what others are sharing. You never know what you will find. Grace

Sepia Saturday 150: 3 November 2012 ~ President John F Kennedy in Duluth Minnesota

Time for  Sepia Saturday 150: 3 November 2012 , click on link to see what others are posting.
Posting is political, Irish or sports.
I am sharing a personal snap shot from family collection.  I believe it is of  President John F Kennedy here in Duluth Minnesota campaigning to become president. He was here in 1960 and 1963. You can read about it here.

I am guessing a uncle of mine took this picture or maybe even an aunt of mine. Sadly I do not know who the gentle men are with John Kennedy.

Small snap shot black and white and a family treasure for sure. I share this over at Sepia Saturday. Thanks for stopping by. Grace

ORPHAN PHOTO # 118 Men and Their Fish Vintage Snapshot

Here is a funny old snap shot, no date but probably around the 1940s or 1950s based on clothing they are wearing.

We have a total of 18 men standing on this dock holding their caught fish. One man is in the back of the boat. Some of these men are wearing ties how strange is that?
Sadly no names to location on the photo so can not get any help to who they are or why they are all standing on a dock.

I am sharing this on Sepia Saturday of UK take a peek at what others are sharing tonight.

Vintage Orphan Photo # 99 SEPIA SATURDAY ~ EARLY 1800's PHOTO / PORTRAIT ~ WISH THIS WAS MY ANCESTOR

Today I went to a estate sale and in the garage on a shelf I found this photo. Right next to it was another of a gentleman and as I looked at this one a man spotted me and grabbed that one in case it was a treasure. Darn it next time if I spot two old photos I will grab and then look and check out the price.

Well I got one great old Sepia photo and will resell it on eBay. Sadly there is not name but she is really something in her period dress and bonnet.  Not sure of when this would of been taken but I will guess early 1800's and hope that some of you can help me with the date.

She appears mid age to older and with a very serious face with down turn mouth. Photo measures 11 inches by 13 1/2 inches so would of been in a frame and hung on a wall at one time.

I found other items at the estate and church sale but this was the only old photo.

I will be sharing this at Sepia Saturday

Hope that you enjoy this wonderful vintage photo and thanks for stopping by.. Grace
