ORPHAN PHOTO #125 Vintage Real Postcard John Arvid Someli Indo was married to Hulda Jussila in 1922

This orphan vintage real post card is of a young man posed in a simple chair. Dressed in a business type suit.

Back of post card has a paper taped on it that has the name John Arvid Someli Indo
born 03 -25 -1885 died 09 -19 -1924. Married Hulda Jussila on 09 - 29 - 1922, buried at Park Hill on 09 - 25 -1924 Div G Row 24 Grave 23. There is a Park Hill Cemetery in Duluth Minnesota.
Post card is from the 1901 to 1907 era so young man was in his 20 and I think it was taken here in the United States.

I find John living as a boarder in the 1920 census in Duluth. He was listed as a laborer working in the woods, is widowed and immigrated from Finland in 1913.
I find a Hulda living in Duluth and listing John as her husband and that he is deceased.  She was living in what is now the down town area of  Duluth on South 1st ave West.
Sadly from this picture I can see that he was married to Hulda just two years before he died at the age of 39 years old.
I could not find him in any family trees on ancestry at this time. Searched for his wife Hulda, I found that she immigrated from Finland landing in Canada and then coming to the United States in February of 1910. She was born about 1885. No family trees found at this time.

Selling and Collecting Vintage Game Boards On eBay

Last summer I bought 8 vintage game boards at a garage sale. They have been sitting on my to list pile and this weekend I have been busy getting them ready to sale. These will be added to my eBay auction listings this Sunday night.
I only have the game boards but they are neat in them self. Fun to collect and decorate with.
One of the best ways to display game boards that don't have pieces is to hang them on the wall.
The beautiful colors, pictures, and designs will add something special to your room.

 WW1 Battle Game

The Rebel based on a TV show

Ropes and Ladders Game

Vintage Crossword Game

Here are 4 of my vintage game boards that I will be selling.  I have lots of items around here in my to list pile on eBay or etsy or Amazon . Watch for more of my game boards that I will be selling.
My plan is to list them for auction, if they do not sell after 2 times out I will put in my eBay and etsy stores.

Merry Christmas To All Of You

Merry Christmas to all of my friends. What a wonderful blessed day we are having today. I am thankful for all I have and pray for those who have troubles or pain in their lives at this time. I am thinking and praying for those who lost their children to tragedy and illness. My heart aches for them.
Be safe this holiday. Grace

SEPIA SATURDAY 157 CHRISTMAS 2012 Vintage Holiday Greeting with an Angel

Holiday time is busy but still need to take a moment to share a Sepia Saturday post. This is a vintage Christmas picture that came in a group of vintage greeting cards. I am guessing it is from the early 1900s. Pictured is a darling blond angel among the clouds with a greeting telling us " A Bright and Happy Christmas"
There are no names written on back so I have no idea who owned it before but glad it is mine for the time being. I will be offering it for sale on etsy soon.

Thank you for stopping by and please take a moment to share other Sepia Saturday postings. Grace

Orphan Photo #121 Merry Christmas Happy New Year From Paul, DeLois and Cheryl

Hunting through photos for Christmas photos to share tonight. This is one that came in a group of photos.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from this smiling young family. No last name or where they lived.
Not exactly sure of her name but his is Paul and their daughter is Cheryl, looks like mama's name may be DeLois.
I am guessing this photo  is from the 1970s or 1980s and our little Cheryl is about 1 years old.
What do you think?
