Peeking Into The Past With Vintage Photos Marion Iowa Gip Derflinger
Today's photo is a cabinet photo of Gip Derflinger of Marion Iowa.
He is a handsome young man with mustache and holding his hat on knee.
The early census at ancestry make it hard to find this young man. He was probably living
with his father and was not named on the census.
This photo is listed in my eBay store.

Cabinet Photo Samuel Elmer and Minnie Beye Colombiana Ohio
I recently purchased a group of vintage photos from some one I knew. They were her distant family
members but she had no one to pass them on to and knew that I love to buy and sell vintage photos
on ebay.
This cabinet photo is of Samuel Elmer and Minnie Beye of Colombiana Ohio.
Such a nice looking young couple from the early 1900s.
Hopefully I will find some one to add this photo to their collection or even a family member of this couple.
Thanks for stopping by.

While wandering through piles of vintage photos and always wonder how they got separated from
their family members
This wonderful cabinet photo is a perfect example.
Here we have two darling little boys sitting in an antique wicker stroller.
Bright eyed and so cute.
Photographer is Elliott of Morris Minnesota
On the back of photo is written what looks like Justine H Thomson Born July 1st 1886
and Raymond G Thomson born Oct 3rd 1887
Would be a great find for a family member or for some one who collects cabinet photos of infants.
I am offering this for sale in my eBay store.

Vintage Orphan Photo # 102 TODAYS PHOTO FROM THE PAST ~ LITTLE PEOPLE CABINET WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHED late 1800's
I recently rescued several photos from an auction a couple of weeks ago. This is the one I wanted among the pile. Sadly it has no names or even the photographer listed on it.
It is of a young couple who are what we consider little people today in the political correct world.
This cabinet photo is from the late 1890s to early 1900's and they are probably a married couple. It very well could be their wedding photo. It has faded over time.
These are rare photos to find and the first I have been able to purchase. I will pass it on to a collector at some time in the future. I feel it has a value of between $20.00 to $40.00. If we had their names it would be priceless to their family.
Thank you for stopping by to view one of my found treasures. Take a moment and look at past postings if you like.. Grace

Orphan Photo # 91 Sepia Saturday Henry and Emile Wertz Berndt Cabinet Photo

For sepia Saturday I want you to meet Henry Carl and Emilie ( Wertz ) Berndt of Industry Texas.
I picked this vintage cabinet photo in Houston, Texas a few months ago paying more than I usually would but having it identified was great.
Hopefully a family member will spot it and want it in their family photo collection and will be happy to reimburse me.
I went to http://www.ancestry.com/ and found Henry and Emilie in the 1880 census. This shows us were they were living, who was living in their home. Besides their children we have Henry's siblings and a farm laborer. His occupation is a farmer.

Sepia Saturday Orphan Photo # 72 of Darling Young Child From Minnesota
.jpg)
Today's posting of an Orphan Photo is a sweet looking darling young child from St. Paul Minnesota. I bought this at an estate sale some years ago.
Photographer is S M Taylor of West 7th Street.
I think this is a young girl but with the short hair is hard to be sure. Dressed in a very nice dress with large lacy collar. Around the neck is a small cross.
What a doll. Sadly there is no name on the back to identify this young child. Take a look at the back to see how beautifully it is designed.
.jpg)
I am posting for the first time at Sepia Saturday.. You can visit others at http://sepiasaturday.blogspot.com/2010/11/sepia-saturday-week-48.html for more vintage photos.
I hope that you enjoy my vintage photos and will let me know you have visited. Please take a moment before you leave to see some of my other vintage photos.

Orphan Photo # 56 Cabinet Fanny McCoy Sawyer Missouri

Orphan Photo # 54 Cabinet Photo is featuring Fanny McCoy Sawyer of Lexington Missouri. What a wonderful photo. This is another photo from an estate sale here in Texas of the Sawyer family. This one is of Fanny sitting on a beautiful horse and another horse standing by with another lady. She is wearing a beautiful dress and tops it off with a big hat. You can just feel her smile and happiness in this photo.
The second woman is hidden in the darkness of her dress, horse and trees and is not identified.
Thank you for stopping by.. hope that you have enjoyed seeing another of my photo collection that I will be selling on eBay http://stores.ebay.com/TurnAbout01 in the future. Grace

Orphan Photo # 55 Cabinet Family Judge Samuel Sawyer

Today's orphan photo is another Sawyer family photo from an Estate sale.
The back of the photo tells us that it is of Judge Samuel Locke Sawyer born Mount Vernon New Hampshire Nov 26 1813.
Died Independence Mo 1890 , married Dec 23, 1841. Father of Thomas Callaway Sawyer.
This is a piece of treasure with family information written. Sadly it has been given up by the family and does not tell us who he married or who his parents were.
Back of photo tells us that Samuel was 74 years old when photo was taken.

Thanks so much for stopping by and viewing my vintage photos.. hope that you come back again .. Grace

Orphan Photo 43

Here is an interesting vintage cabinet photo . One one side is a nice clear photo of what I am guessing is a mother and child. I love the clothes from the time. The mother is dressed in a long dress with high collar and long sleeves plus a big hat. The darling child is in a short dress with a big bonnet. Looks like railroad tracks in the back ground. So my guess is they are at a railroad station. Sadly no names on the photo to identify.
Then on the back side is a faded photo of a couple.

I have never seen this before in my buying of vintage photos.
Enjoy and thanks for stopping by.. grace

Orphan Photo # 41 Houston Texas Frank and Bertha Koehler Wedding

Take a look at the great vintage cabinet photo I found this week at an antique store. I plan to put this up for sale on my eBay site but wanted to give you a preview.
I love vintage wedding photos and this one is fantastic. She is in the most beautiful dress with ruffles. There is a flower in her hair and her bouquet is fairly large.
The groom is a real handsome young man with three piece suit and a mustache.
Best of all this one is identified. So sad that families let them go.
Back is identified as Frank and Bertha Berndt Koeher Houston Texas Wedding photo.
I found them in the 1910 census in Texas. Census says he is 36 and she is 20 and that they had been married 5 years. If this fact is true she was 15 when they married. The census has him born in Germany and she was born in Texas.
I did not find them in Texas in 1920 on a quick search.
Thanks For Stopping By ... Grace

Orphan Photo # 32

This cabinet photo that is of a middle age man with a mustache and curly hair in probably his best suit. Came out of a photo album I bought some time ago. There was a name written in the photo album in pencil but hard to know what his name may really be. Looks like W W Warnard. Nothing on the photos identifies where or who photographed.
This is one of many orphan photos I have bought to sell on eBay either to collectors or better yet a family member. http://stores.ebay.com/TurnAbout01
