Forgotten Photo 37 Mother and Child + Oddity on Reverse side

Here is an interesting vintage cabinet photo . One one side is a nice clear photo of what I am guessing is a mother and child. I love the clothes from the time. The mother is dressed in a long dress with high collar and long sleeves plus a big hat. The darling child is in a short dress with a big bonnet. Looks like railroad tracks in the back ground. So my guess is they are at a railroad station. Sadly no names on the photo to identify.

Then on the back side is a faded photo of a couple.

I have never seen this before in my buying of vintage photos.

Enjoy and thanks for stopping by.. grace

Forgotten Photo #36 Mr and Mrs Henry Carl Berndt of Texas

This is the other cabinet photo I bought at the antique store. It also is identified and I hope that a family member finds it when I offer it on ebay. This picture is smaller and is of an older couple. It is identified as Mr and Mrs Henry Carl Berndt Industry Texas and has written in ink Emilie Wertz Berndt . In pencil it has Emilie written and not sure if they are trying to tell us that it is Emile parents or if the lady is Emilie.

Did a quick check on ancestry and came up with no information on him.

Hope that you have enjoyed seeing this orphan photo I found... Thanks For Stopping By .. Grace

Forgotten Photo # 35 Fantastic WEDDING Couple Houston Texas Frank and Bertha Koehler

Take a look at the great vintage cabinet photo I found this week at an antique store. I plan to put this up for sale on my eBay site but wanted to give you a preview.
I love vintage wedding photos and this one is fantastic. She is in the most beautiful dress with ruffles. There is a flower in her hair and her bouquet is fairly large.
The groom is a real handsome young man with three piece suit and a mustache.
Best of all this one is identified. So sad that families let them go.
Back is identified as Frank and Bertha Berndt Koeher Houston Texas Wedding photo.

I found them in the 1910 census in Texas. Census says he is 36 and she is 20 and that they had been married 5 years. If this fact is true she was 15 when they married. The census has him born in Germany and she was born in Texas.
I did not find them in Texas in 1920 on a quick search.

Forgotten Photo # 34 Young Man with Great Mustache in Vintage Photo

Here we are back to vintage CVD photos of men from overseas.
This handsome man is probably in his early 20's and has the coolest of thin mustache
Photographer was Tonsas and looks like Anette Haag. I am guessing this is another photo from Sweden
Sadly it is also unidentified so we do not know who he was.

Vintage Thingies Thursday My Family Bibles

Welocome to Vintage Thingies Thursday. You can visit other's posting of their treasures by go to

Here is another of my family treasures. At one time I had the pleasant task to be the keeper of our family bibles. Within the last year I have passed on one to each of my sons and my sister nows has two others at her home. But I have for now kept two of my favorites. Some day they will be passed on to my boys.

The smallest bible belonged to Louisa Marie Reynolds who married George Hall.

They had a son Arthur Reynolds Hall who married Mabel Coleman They passed it down to their daughter Alta Louise Hall.

Alta married my grandfather Perry Zion.

My father Arthur passed this down to me.

So this bible belonged to great great grandmother. She owned this when she was married to George Hall since she has signed it Louisa M Hall Evansville Wisconsin.

She has recorded her parents name and 7 sister's name with their birth dates.
Her parents were John G Reynolds born 1800 and Mandania G Grover born 1815

Amazingly beautiful handwriting.

The second bible belonged to my grandmother Alta Hall Zion. Inside there is this small note with my father's name and his address when he was in the merchant marines in 1943. She must of given it to him at that time.

The smallest bible is dated 1844

My grandmother's bible is not dated itself. She has written her name and my grandfather's name and the date 1911. She married grandpa Perry in 1913.

Hope that you enjoy my family treasures. Have a happy vintage Thingies Thursdays.

Thanks For Saving My Old Art Mom... A drawing by an 8 year old

Is this not a beautiful piece of art. My sweet mom saved this all these years. I colored this September 22, 1956 at the age of 8 years old. Little did I know I would have my first son 11 years later on that exact day. This is the picture of me at about 8 years old with some doll.

Thanks Mom for saving this treasure.

Forgotten Photo # 30 of Mother and Child

This is another wonderful old photo I bought some time ago. It is from 1931 and marked mary and Jean. What a beautiful baby and the women is so pretty. Her hair has wavy curls of that time period. I bought several photos of this child at one estate sale including wedding photos. All I remember now is that they were from Georgia.

Always is so sad when families do not keep their photos. Hope that you have enjoyed seeing this wonderful photo from 1931.

Pretty As A Peacock... Vintage Table Cloth That Is

I love thrift stores, estate sale and garage sales. I love the hunt for a treasure to sell on eBay. Sometimes I end up keeping them longer than planned and some times I sell them really fast.

I found this beautiful embroidered table cloth quite a while ago. Tried to sell it once on eBay with no luck. I packed it up and brought with me from California to Texas. To pretty to leave behind. A week ago I had a few items to put up for sale on eBay and thought why not give it a try. Sure enought I sold it tonight and so within a few days it will go to its new owner.

It is so pretty and only one little mark which I am sure will come out with a soaking in Biz.

Before I ship off I want to let you have a peek at this cutie that was mine for a bit.

The Fancy Cookie Press Vintage Cookie Maker

I love old advertising's. They are great framed and hung on a kitchen wall or could be put into a memory box.

While hitting the thrift stores yesterday I came across the craft books to sell on eBay . One of them was Creative Memory Keeping by Goose Berry Patch.

It had instructions for a memory box using vintage recipes, an old picture. This would be a cute addition to copy and use in it.

Maybe I will give it a try, if so will give you a peek.

This advertising is for " The Fancy Cookie Press " by Hedstrom Union Co. You could make Sprits cookies, Chocolate cookies and Swedish Kringlor.

Forgotten Photo # 29 Cute 1 Year Old Black Child Ronald Paul

Some vintage photos I can not pass up. I have this urge to buy a photo, to own it for awhile and then sell on eBay in hopes to find a family member or fill someone's collection of vintage photos

This one is special. Not only is the child adorable but he is identified. Photos of black children are not often found at estate sales or antique malls.

This cutie is 1 year old Ronald Paul " Lonenza Cleaners " first boy. He is one years old in this photo. Sadly there is not last name or identifying city or state.

Hope that you have enjoyed seeing this wonderful vintage photo. I am guessing that this photo is from the 1940's
