Happy Valentine's Day Vintage Valentines post #1

I have found some wonderful vintage Valentines in the past at sales. As a child I loved Valentines day in school.

We would buy a package of Valentines then pick who in my class would get which one. Everyone got one of course.

I loved receiving them also. Sadly I do not have any of these received from class mates but I do have ones that others received.

Over the next days until the big day I will share some of mine. There are some real cute ones so be sure to stop back every day if possible.

Today's is a pretty little girl in an Indian outfit complete with big head dress. The arrow moves up and down. Written is

"You're my CHIEF attractions

I'm aiming to make you mine Valentine"

on the back is

Thanks for stopping by...hope to see you real soon... Grace

Orphan Photo # 90 TinType Photo Two Young Men With Suitcases

Here is a great vintage TinType Photo of two young men holding suitcases. Dressed in three piece suits with jacket over their shoulders. Man on the right has a pipe in his mouth.

I love these old tintypes. This one has some damage near bottom. Sadly this is another orphan photo with no idea who these cute young men were.

Orphan Photo # 89 Pretty Black Woman Vintage late 1800's Sepia

This vintage photo was found among family photos on my mother's side. I am guessing she was a friend of my great grandmother Katherine or Katherine's sister Mary. No name on the back so do not know who she was. There is light penciling on the back but can not make it out.
She is a pretty black lady from the late 1800's to the early 1900's. She probably lived in the Wisconsin area. She is wearing small little stud earrings. What is on her hat is a mystery to me.
Wish I knew who she was so I can match her to family.

Cute Family Photo From Day Side Of Family ? 1930 to 1940

This is a great old photo that came out of a scrap book of my mother's so is from the Day side of the family. The family lived in Minnesota around the Mora area. My mom was born in 1923 and I am thinking she may have taken this picture. That is how I am dating it to the 1930's to 1940's.

Problem is there is no names, not sure if family or friends but I will guess family.
The clothing is intersting especially the second child a young girl with what may be a hat. The older gentleman is wearing a thin tie that is stuck into his shirt.
Any one out there have a better idea to the age of photo?
Thanks to all of you that stop by and view my pictures. I hope that you mark me a favorite and visit often... Grace

Orphan Photo # 85 CDV Racine Wisconsin Lady

Hello everyone

Here is another CDV from my collection. This older lady is from Racine Wisconsin. I am guessing this CDV is probably from the early 1900's.

She seems very serious in this photo, but if you look close you can see just the slightest smile. Wonder what she is thinking about as she sits for her photo.

Dressed in her probably her best dress and around her neck she looks to be wearing a long necklace of small beads.

Sadly there is not name so we have no idea who this lady was. Photographer was Thomas on College avenue in Racine.

This was purchased some years ago in Minnesota at an estate sale.

Orphan Photo # 84 Kalmar Sweden Lady in 1900's CDV

Here is another of the vintage CDV 's I picked up in Minnesota some time ago. This is another pretty lady having her picture taken while living in Sweden. I am guessing she immigrated to Minnesota and brought the picture with her or could be she sent to a friend/family member who had already moved here.

Sadly we will never know since there is no name on the back.

This photo was probably taken late 1890's or early 1900's. I love the waves in her hair. She appears so sweet and innocent. There appears to be a small necklace around her neck.
At first I thought she had gloves on but not sure.

Photographer is Anna Winell of Kalmar
