VTT Orphan Photo # 58 Fanny Sawyer and her friends in their Fantastic Hats

Happy vintage Thingies Thursday... you can visit others at http://coloradolady.blogspot.com/2010/03/vintage-thingies-thursday-history-in.html
Take a peek at one of the greatest vintage photos I have every bought. This one comes from an Estate here in the Houston Texas area. We have four beautiful ladies pictured in their fantastic hats.
Each hat from left to right gets fancier and then you come to number 4 and she stands out all by herself. Her hat is plain and if you look close you can see her bow around her neck matches her hat band. Each of the other ladies have bows around their necks also.
The photo identifies the first lady as Fanny Swayer . There is writing on the back in pencil that I can not make out sadly. , . I have other pictures of her posted recently.. take a peek if you like.

  1. What a wonderful photo! Hard to believe that people don't want their family history. That is such a charming one too.
Although dh and I don't have biological children, we have become the savers of family history and photographs. Its a bit overwhelming. I love your blog.

  5. Love the hats! When I enlarged the photo those collars made it look like their heads were super-imposed. Very strange.

  12. Great photo, love the hats. I wonder if they were heavy or made it hard to hold your head up. They are so fancy!
