Sepia Saturday Orphan Photo # 72 of Darling Young Child From Minnesota

Today's posting of an Orphan Photo is a sweet looking darling young child from St. Paul Minnesota. I bought this at an estate sale some years ago.
Photographer is S M Taylor of West 7th Street.

I think this is a young girl but with the short hair is hard to be sure. Dressed in a very nice dress with large lacy collar. Around the neck is a small cross.

What a doll. Sadly there is no name on the back to identify this young child. Take a look at the back to see how beautifully it is designed.

I am posting for the first time at Sepia Saturday.. You can visit others at http://sepiasaturday.blogspot.com/2010/11/sepia-saturday-week-48.html for more vintage photos.

I hope that you enjoy my vintage photos and will let me know you have visited. Please take a moment before you leave to see some of my other vintage photos.

Thanks Grace

  2. What a sweet child! It's so sad that these photos get separated from the family. Detailing on the back is just gorgeous.

  3. What a pretty child! Probably a girl, but even that can't be known for sure.

  5. I was going to guess that it's a boy, mostly because of the short hair left "plain" but who knows! The child has a very sweet countenance. The back of the card is so ornate! They don't do things like that these days. Welcome to Sepia Saturday.

  6. Hi Grace, it is a sweet child and a beautiful photo for Sepia Saturday. One wonders, who was this child, what was her name ( I think it's a girl) and did she have a happy life?

  10. It is an interesting post. I know a lady who was an orphan pulled from another state and adopted by an Iowa couple. She never knew who her parents were.
